As a teenager, I watched my Mother struggle with difficult decisions as the caregiver for my Grandmother. As I watched my Mother sort through all of the information, while working a full-time job and raising two children, I thought, “There has to be a better way.” Today, with Choice Care Navigators, there is. We help families navigate the complex senior care world to make well-informed decisions. Our team will help you and your family make the best choices while making the process as stress-free as possible.

Dr. Corinne Auman is a Nationally Certified Guardian and an Advanced Professional member of the Aging LifeCare Association. She received her Ph.D. from NC State University, where she studied developmental psychology with a specialty in adulthood and aging.

She is an experienced educator, researcher, and author of the book Keenagers: Telling a New Story about Aging.

Andrea Harmon
Area of Expertise: Social Work, Nationally Certified Care Manager

As a Social Worker of 25 years working in Skilled Long Term Care, I have seen the stress and anxiety families face trying to find care for their loved one. I truly enjoy helping families connect to services that best support their loved ones’ care needs.

Choice Care Navigators allows me to follow my passion as I help families navigate the resources that are available in the Triad area. I look forward to being able to reduce the stress that families and seniors are facing by looking at each person’s specific needs and how to best support their quality of life.

Michelle Smith, LCSW
Area of Expertise: Care Management

Growing up, I especially enjoyed spending time with older relatives, grandparents, and neighbors. Their kindness and guidance endeared me to spend more time with them. In college, I decided to focus my studies on aging. I wasn’t quite sure of my path, but I knew I wanted to work with older adults. While in graduate school, I worked or interned in as many different settings with seniors as possible, including independent seniors in the communities and skilled nursing facilities.

I now have more than 20 years of experience as a social worker, and I’m honored to continue serving older adults and their families with Choice Care Navigators. The services provided are exactly what I would want to help care for my relatives during our care journey.

As a nurse for 20 years, it’s been my passion to help people, especially older adults and their families. As my parents are also aging and need assistance with care, I can relate to families who are in similar situations. For that reason, building relationships with the patients and their families, and supporting and advocating for optimal care, is what makes my role fulfilling.

I am excited to work with Care Navigators to help families and their loved ones by using my nursing and case management skills.
